![]() It means that the problems are natural, neurological and behavioural at times. Students with learning disorders experience academic problems, which is preceded by signs such as distorted language or a delay in picking up a language etc. This study aims to evaluate the effects of a flashcard system in dealing with reading and writing problems with 40 5th grade female students with learning disorders. Various research studies have found that DI flashcards is a highly effective intervention technique when academic skills deficits are found in the students with disabilities. Suggestions for future research employing DI flashcards and generalization of treatment outcomes were also provided. generalization was carried out with new math facts. The results indicated that our participant’s performance increased when these two procedures were combined. These two procedures were evaluated in an ABABCB single case design. This project implemented DI flashcards with a count by series to improve the performance of a single elementary school student having difficulty in math. Count-bys can provide students an easy transition from addition to multiplication. Employing a count-by series has been employed by classroom teachers to teach multiplication. Students with memory issues may well benefit from being taught with DI flashcards. P>DI flashcards have been proven be improve student performance in a wide range of subject matter-areas. Despite the math requirements that have been placed on students, the students are failing to learn and retain the required math benchmarks for their grade levels (Adelman, 1999 Gersten, Beckmann, Foegen, Marsh, Star, & Witzel, 2009 National Mathematics Advisory Panel, 2008). Mathematics is not only important in the school setting, but in everyday life and in the current job market as well (National Mathematics Advisory Panel, 2008). Basic multiplication facts are imperative for success of students in k-12 education and beyond (Johnson & Layng 1994 Lerner & Johns, 2011 Stein, Kinder, Silbert, & Carnine, 2006). Multiplication facts are a central and essential piece of elementary math curriculum. The flash card procedure was inexpensive and easily implemented in a resource room setting. Both participants improved their mastery of multiplication facts. The effects of the DI flashcard procedure were evaluated using a multiple baseline design across sets of problems. Targeted math facts were chosen based on the students' pretest scores. The school was located in an urban school district in the Pacific Northwest. The study was conducted in a resource room which served intermediate aged elementary students. Please make sure to view our system requirements. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of a Direct Instruction (DI) flashcard system paired with a math racetrack to teach basic multiplication facts to two elementary students diagnosed with learning disabilities.
