A Scroll of Smelting increases the chances of a successful upgrade on any item upgraded below +7. You can prevent the item from being lost by using a Scroll of Aprotect before upgrading. After +3, the item will be lost if the upgrade fails. When upgrading from +2 to +3, the upgrade can fail, but only the moonstone will be lost. When upgrading from +0 to +2, the upgrade cannot fail. If the upgrade fails, both the item and the moonstone are lost. After a short time, the results of the upgrade will be shown: success or failure. ![]() To upgrade any item that falls into the above category other than suit piercing with a moonstone, double-click on the moonstone and then on the item you wish to upgrade.
